Quote of the Issue
"The important thing in science is not so much to obtain new facts as to discover new ways of thinking about them."
-- Sir William Bragg
Welcome to the latest issue of The LawsonGuru Letter, a free newsletter providing provocative commentary on issues important to the Lawson Software community.  The LawsonGuru Letter is published by--and is solely the opinion of--John Henley of Decision Analytics.
BN106 - 834 file extraction
We have started to look at and test with BN106 to create our HIPAA data files for our vendor. At their request they would like medical, dental and FSA information on the 834 file. I do see the expected segments for our medical and dental infomation. When I try and pull FSA information I can look at the file and see that there are no FSA segments that they are expecting. I also looked at the program and can see the coding for the various other segments for 834 transactions but none for FSA. Has anyone else had to send FSA information to their vendor and if so how did you handle doing so? Read More...
ITEMMAST or ITEMLOC add/change Approval
Has anyone created a flow, or give some insight, on an approval process for specific data changed (i.e - manuf nbr, replenish vendors, etc...) in the ITEMLOC, ITEMMAST, or ITEMSRC tables? Or does anyone have a good reporting process for this scenario? We are having issues with communication and I would like to somewhat put some constraints on this piece in our system. Read More...
Process Automation: Email authentication action
With Process Automation I can set Action items to take place from emails - Approve, Reject etc. If the user who receives the approval email forwards that email to another user, the user its forwarded to can also take an action and basically impersonate the original intended approver. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?. Read More...
Direct Link to a Lawson form in Mingle
Does anyone know if it is possible to create a URL that links directly to a form in Portal without bypassing Mingle? I know that I can call https://server/lawson/portal?_TKN=GL10.1 but this bypasses Mingle altogether. Further... I know that I can get to the "home" page for S3 under Mingle by calling http://mingle.server.com/SitePages/...awson-s3.1 Is there anything I can add to that to get to a particular form? Read More...
