Lars, You Need a Cause
Sure, it's cool to have a mascot/avatar, but it needs to be about more than just a cartoon character.
Welcome to the latest issue of The LawsonGuru FireworksLetter, a free newsletter providing provocative commentary on issues important to the Lawson Software community.  The LawsonGuru Letter is published by--and is solely the opinion of--John Henley of Decision Analytics.

Happy Independence Day!

Simulating dual-login ID's in LSF9?
We are migrating from 8.0.3 to LSF9 (planning to remain on LAUA security).  Currently all the RSS/Portal people have 2 ID's for login: One for ESS/MSS which is their 'LAN ID' and the other is their RSS/Portal ID which is their 'LAN ID' + "P"  (ie. ESS => "m045757": Portal => "m045757P").

In 8.0.3 we modified the index.htm & login.htm pages to create a login page for ESS/MSS and a login page for RSS/Portal.  The RSS/Portal page appends the "P" onto the users LAN ID when they login thereby creating a 'dummy' single-signon look/feel.

We are looking to do something similar in LSF9...
Custom Calculation for Union Dues
I am trying to create a custom calculation using the PRUEDED file for a fairly complex union dues calculation. Any advice anyone could pass along regarding custom calculations within Lawson would be GREATLY appreciated!
Training for LSF9 and/or Apps 9 upgrades
What types of learning curve will be experienced with:
1) upgrade from environment (windows) to LSF 9?
upgrade from apps 8.1 (windows) to apps 9? (HR/PR, GL/AP, EMSS, Process Flow).

We are considering using the learning library courses and the Lawson-provided documentation only versus paying for a trainer to come in. Is this feasible?
Thanks for joining us this month.

Do CEOs Matter?
Steve Jobs, Apple's ailing CEO, is scheduled to return to work this month after a six-month leave, but investors are feeling skittish. Every time he sneezes, shares of Apple catch a cold. Can a CEO-even one as talented and visionary as Jobs-really make or break a corporation?
