COBOL SKILLS - Hard to Find
We've been a Lawson S3 site since 1999 and have the basic suites (PR, HR, GL, AP, Supply Chain). Our IS staff are all competent MF COBOL programmers. While we try not to customize....over the years quite a few programs have been customized. Certainly we have quite a few custom reports and extracts, but we also have some business rule oriented code. We don't yet use Landmark, or Design Studio, although we'd consider investing in other tools. Our COBOL staff are not getting any younger - and the young IS folks appear interested in anything but COBOL. How is your IS Lawson shop adapting? Are you able to get away from COBOL and still support your customers? How? Thanks for any insights!  Read More...

PO line delivery dates
Does anyone use the PO line delivery date as a means to evaluate vendors? We have our inventory items control code set as "S" (system generated) in IC12. So the system generates the lead time based on the last two PO receipts. But does not take into account weekends / holidays. Does anyone do anything different? Read More...
Thanks for your continued support of the LawsonGuru Letter and LawsonGuru.com.
